Object recognition test
- variables of test
- -habituation times and intervals: some experimenters don't do any habituation
- -familiarization session:
- -intersession interval (ISI): can be 2, 6, 24, 48, or 72 hours
- -object exploration duration: usually 3-5 min
- -object exploration time by mouse: usually measured when mice is pointing nose toward object within a certain distance (such as 2-4 cm)
- --I like to count the time as exploration time if the mouse is sniffing the object.
How should the final data be represented?
- In the telomerase gene therapy supplementary data they make a bar graph of A/(A+B) (Figure S4 H-J). The data is given as mean+/-SEM. They used two-way ANOVA test for statistical analysis in one part. They use Student's t-test in another part. Their numbers range from n=3 to n=18.
