I think these slides are coated with SMCC which will bind to amines on
one side and cysteine on the other side. After being coated, the SMCC
will bind to the cysteines on proteins and peptides.

Our lab used some in-house slides and also some slides from Schott. The
in-house slides were printed up until around 2009 and then were stopped.
Then some more printing began around 2013.
