how much dna can be put into an aav?
- Eduard Ayuso recommends (for AAV9) that the gene cDNA should be less than 4 kb, and then a tag and promoter should be added so his recommendation matches well with vector biolabs
- about 4.7 kb according to vector biolabs. However, since the two ITRs of AAV is about 0.2-0.3Kb in total, the foreign DNA that could be introduced between these 2 ITRs should be <4.4Kb, which is much smaller than that of recombinant adenovirus (7.5Kb).
