++ parsing a table spreadsheet with Java Do not try to parse a table or spreadsheet in Java with regular expressions. Instead, use a dedicated package for this job such as the opencsv package. There are even faster methods for extracting rows and columns than opencsv using Linux. [very fast row and column extraction 10-22-13]
