my personal wikis that I manage and own 06-01-2014d1619 wiki prefixes my personal wiki can be found here http://azim58wiki.ourproject.org/mobiki/index.php edutainment wiki here http://azim58wiki.ourproject.org/mobiki_edutainment/index.php Wikis will be a collection of text files in a folder. Public wikis will be synced with a wiki on personal drive onto a wiki engine on a server. As of 08-29-2014d2004 I am using mobiki for my wiki engine. If I want to share protected wikis with specific people, I can just share the dropbox of text files. Different wikis will have different prefixes -public personal wiki (I will copy these files to some type of public wiki occasionally). I will not put any type of prefix in front of pages for the public wiki since this is likely the most common type of page --prefix: none (this is for public info) -edutainment wiki --ed_ -private personal wiki. --prefix: pr_ -wiki for material that could possibly be sensitive for cim (center for innovations in medicine) --prefix: cim_ -wiki for cnio --prefix: cni_ --as of 07-21-2014d1521 I am putting all of the text files with a certain prefix into one folder issues with setting up a wiki -does wiki engine use plain text files for pages -Are the text files rendered okay without a lot of markup -can I get the wiki up onto a host easy enough -can I sync the local text files with the web host -can I password protect portions of the wiki -is new content on the wiki indexed -is the wiki indexed by big search engines like google current plan for public wiki on internet 08-29-2014d2006 (process for setting up a wiki) -use mobiki on ourproject.org. Use goodsync to sync files between computer and ftp folders on ourproject.org. -So basically, for me personally I like the wiki to be a collection of text files in a folder. Then I use a wiki engine such as mobiki or lionwiki hosted on a webhost such as byethost or ourproject.org. Then I sync the collection of text files with the webhost using a ftp sync program like Goodsync. ----------- see also -[pr_connecting my data and information to the others 10-25-2014d1523] -[find and replace double bracket links with single bracket links 08-29-2014d0738]
