figures not showing up in table of figures

I am working on my dissertation, and I have a Table of Figures.  However, no matter what I try to do, I cannot get Figure 6 and Figure 8 to show up in my table of figures.  I looked at the following help page

but this did not help me.  I can email you my dissertation document if this will help you help me fix this problem.  Thanks for any help and information you can offer me!
