dokuwiki is a type of wiki that allows all the wiki pages to be stored as pure text files.  This allows for easy export and import of the wiki.

What are the issues I have with dokuwiki?
-Filenames with spaces aren't handled well
--this issue may be resolved with this plugin: PreserveFilenames Plugin
---actually this plugin doesn't seem to fix the problem.  I guess I could just rename all of my files so that they have no space and spaces are replaced with underscores.  At least dates such as 06-21-2014d1356 are allowed.
-newly imported text files aren't automatically made available by search.  You have to search the exact filename, and then later the whole filename or parts of it can be searched.  This isn't the desired behavior I would expect.
--this issue can be resolved in two ways
---Searchindex manager plugin
---spider tool such as httrack: http://www.httrack.com/page/20/en/index.html
-I can use GoodSync to keep files on my hard drive in sync with the ftp folders on the web host
--old (pre 06-24-2014d1126): I can't seem to find an ftp program that will correctly sync the folder on my hard drive with the folder on the webhost
---I've tried fullsync (won't update changes to a page on the server to the local folder), FTPbox (keeps freezing), Filezilla (couldn't do a continuous sync), WinSCP (couldn't figure out how to do continuous sync).
