--Basically, from what I can tell so far, the transfer with bitcoin appears to take longer (a few more business days) but involve fewer fees.  The transfer of money between bitcoin accounts occurs instantly, but transferring from the bitcoin accounts to normal banks can take 1-2 business days. ---Here is some more info.  I transferred 50 euro from a Spain bank account to an American bank account with bitcoin and only experienced a 0.50 euro fee with a 4 business day process (see records in first coinbase account around january 2015).  I don't know if this fee amount scales with the amount you are transferring or if it would always be about the same.  On a different day, I transferred 900 euro from a Spain bank account to an American bank account without bitcoin and the transfer occurred in one business day, but I lost about 57.46 euro (see bbva records around December 2014) in fees during the process.
