azim58 - Scalebars for CKX41 microscope Scalebars for CKX41 microscope images 40X, 100X, 200X, 400X C:\kurt\storage\CIM Research Folder\DR\2013\1-17-13\data_download\2005 Notes about creation of these scale bars below =========================================================================== Note that in order to use these scale bars, the magnification of the camera should just be 1X. I'd like to make black bars that can be used as scalebars in images from the CKX41 microscope. In order to do this, I will need an example image from the microscope, and then I will need to determine the dimensions. Magnifications of Microscope: 40X, 100X, 200X, 400X Example Microscope Image when converted from the original raw file to a png file 12-13-11 This image has dimensions of 3087 X 2310 pixels (width X height) which corresponds to 1089.02 X 814.92 mm. Here's a table with some conversions of the different scales. Magnification Dimension mm Dimension in um Size of 100 um scale bar width in image (mm) 40X 27.2255 X 20.373 27,226 X 20,373 4 100X 10.8902 X 8.1492 10,890 X 8,149 10 200X 5.4451 X 4.0746 5,445 X 4,075 20 400X 2.72255 X 2.0373 2,723 X 2,037 39.994 Magnification column is basically just a known label Dimension column is simply the normal numbers divided by the magnification. "Dimension in um" column just multiplies the numbers in the dimension column by 1000 "Size of 50 um scale bar width in image" column multiplies 100 um by 1089.02 mm divided by the width at that magnification in um * Example calculation: 27,226 um/(1,089.02 mm) = 50 um/y -> y = 50 um * 1,089.02 mm/(27,226 um) =
