    - Oh actually, I better make sure I understand better. Has all
      of the money permanently been expended, or just all of the money
      for the spring, summer, or fall 2012 semester? The conference I
      want to go to takes place in December. . . Thanks for any help and
      information you can provide me!

    - Hello Kurt.
      Unfortunately, the funding was a one-time event. I might suggest
      looking to see if there are any other resources at the University
      – you just never know what could be out there.

Approximate budget

Regular registration for a student with a poster: $500
(I called Nilda Rivera (1-800-5-BIOCON) and she said it is possible to
present a poster and be a student and pay the student rate)
Breakfasts and lunches are included with registration and 1 dinner is
provided.
Hotel Fees

* Hotel is Loews Coronado Bay Resort
* $179/night
* I plan to stay for 2 days ($179*2 = 358)
Airfare ($200)
As of september 4th 2012 Travelocity shows that roundtrip airfare cost
for a trip from December 5th morning to December 7th evening would be
161.40.

Total cost of trip: 500+358+200 = 1058
I might be able to get 950 from GPSA, and 200 from the graduate college,
which would leave about 1416-950-200 = 266 to be paid for. I think this
might be able to be funded by the Biological Design Program.
