Some Notes

* defense must be scheduled within 10 working days of the planned
  defense date (there are certain dates during the academic year during
  which students cannot hold an oral defense of a thesis or dissertation
  (see GC (Graduate College) 10-Working Day Calendar))
* complete draft of document must be submitted 10 days before defense
  date (use Format Tool prior to submission to the format office); Survey
  of Earned Doctorates form must also be submitted to gradformat@asu.edu
* Note that supplementary files such as spreadsheets of research data
  can also be submitted with dissertation

If the research for a dissertation involves multiple loosely related
projects, is it okay to have separate method/result/etc. sections for
each project or is this rarely done?
Kathy thinks it would be good to have separate sections

Can I include diagrams from other papers in my dissertation if I
reference them?

* It looks like if I do I have to obtain written permission from the
  author or publisher.
